Surface Facilities Development Planning

THREE60 Energy delivered an independent refresh of the surface facilities Field Development Plan for a multinational operator in Iraq, assessing technical, environmental and socio-economic constraints to establish a strategy capable of supporting a threefold increase in processing capacity over 12 years.

Challenge

A multinational operator required an independent, fit-for-purpose refresh of the surface facilities Field Development Plan for a major field in Iraq.

A new subsurface development strategy proposed a significant expansion of drilling activity across a large geographical area, requiring the existing facilities development approach to be reassessed. The study needed to consider not only the infrastructure required to support increased production, but also the technical, environmental and socio-economic constraints associated with delivering a major development programme within the region.

Solution

THREE60 deployed an experienced team in-country, drawing on multidisciplinary expertise and experience from complex developments across multiple international regions. Working collaboratively with the operator, the team developed a detailed understanding of the existing field infrastructure, future production requirements and key constraints influencing development.

Technical assessments were integrated with environmental and socio-economic considerations to evaluate development options and establish a practical surface facilities strategy capable of supporting the planned drilling programme and long-term production profile. Regular collaborative review sessions enabled the development plan to be progressively challenged, refined and aligned with the operator's requirements.

Result

THREE60 delivered a refreshed surface facilities Field Development Plan establishing a phased strategy to triple processing capacity over a 12-year period. The plan identified key development requirements and strategies for managing technical, environmental and socio-economic sensitivities, providing the operator with a robust framework to support future investment and development decisions.

Scan2Fab on Bumi Armada's Kraken FPSO

Working with Bumi Armada, THREE60 Energy deployed its Scan2Fab process to provide an efficient, end-to-end solution from offshore survey through to fabrication. Combining high-accuracy 3D laser scanning with engineering and fabrication expertise, the approach captures accurate as-built data, reduces the need for repeat site visits and enables components to be designed and manufactured with confidence. The result is a streamlined workflow that helps reduce interfaces, minimise offshore activity and support safe, efficient project delivery.
