Challenge
A UKCS operator required a responsive engineering and delivery solution for piping and structural repair orders across a North Sea asset, with the flexibility to support additional assets as required. As part of this requirement, THREE60 was approached following an unplanned equipment outage caused by integrity concerns affecting three piping spools. Replacement spools were urgently required to enable the equipment to be reinstated and minimise disruption to ongoing operations.
Solution
Under its repair order framework, THREE60 provides engineering, procurement, quality assurance and delivery of like-for-like piping and structural repairs, with an agile delivery model designed to respond quickly to both planned and urgent integrity requirements. For the urgent spool replacement, THREE60 retrieved the required dimensional information from existing client scan data on the same day the enquiry was received, enabling design deliverables to be rapidly produced and released for fabrication.
Working closely with the operator, the team identified opportunities to streamline the specification while maintaining the required technical and quality standards. Engineering, procurement and fabrication were then fast-tracked, with all three replacement spools completed and delivered for offshore mobilisation in less than three working days.
Result
All three replacement spools were successfully delivered and installed, enabling the affected equipment to be returned to service with minimal impact to operations. From initial enquiry through engineering, procurement and fabrication, THREE60 delivered the urgent scope in less than three working days, within the agreed budget and with no additional costs incurred.
The scope demonstrates the responsive delivery model now being applied through THREE60’s wider repair order framework, supporting ongoing piping and structural repair requirements across the operator’s North Sea asset portfolio.
