Challenge
Valeura Energy required an experienced operating partner for the Jaka Tarub FSO, supporting the Wassana Field in the Gulf of Thailand.
Following a period of operational challenges and suspension of field production, a robust operating model and demonstrable levels of competency and assurance were required to enable operational control to transition and production to safely restart.
Solution
THREE60 Energy demonstrated its capability to operate and manage the FSO, combining international Duty Holder and O&M experience with established regional expertise and personnel.
The scope included management of HSEQ, field operations, marine maintenance, offshore operating personnel and marine crew, alongside provision of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
THREE60 also provided the offshore management team and established the oversight, assurance and management processes required to support safe and effective operation of the vessel.
Delivery was supported by THREE60 teams across Southeast Asia and Aberdeen, providing access to wider engineering, emergency response and specialist technical capabilities.
Result
Following THREE60’s appointment in November 2023, a structured transition programme was successfully completed, enabling operational control of the Jaka Tarub FSO to transfer to THREE60.
Production successfully restarted in December 2023, with the FSO subsequently supporting continued production and regular crude oil offtakes from the Wassana Field.
The successful transition demonstrates THREE60’s ability to rapidly establish the leadership, systems, personnel and assurance required to assume operational responsibility for offshore production infrastructure.
