THE SITUATION:
THREE60 Subsea was approached by an Angolan operator to conduct flexible riser annulus testing and a full scale visual inspection of topsides flexible riser equipment, including topside flexible riser end fittings, hang-off steelwork, and vent system pipework on 51 risers spread across four Floating Production Facilities.
Due to the large amount of risers and multiple assets, the client had specific concerns about minimising total cost while still providing enough time for accurate testing.
OUR SOLUTION:
THREE60 Subsea is very experienced when it comes to multi-asset and and multi-riser inspections. We developed a testing plan based on each individual riser’s expected testing duration utilizing annulus free volume calculations which would allow us to make the most efficient use of testing time, and reduce the overall testing duration.
THREE60 Subsea also mobilised multiple FlexScout(R) annulus testing kits so that we could test multiple risers at a time. Visual inspections were carried out concurrently during testing to reduce the entire inspection campaign time to only 30 days.
