THREE60 Energy designed and supplied a specialist hose deployment system for SBM Offshore to support the installation of two large-diameter reinforced bonded rubber hose offloading lines for a CALM buoy.
The system was developed to support the assembly and controlled deployment of Trelleborg Trelline hoses and associated buoyancy modules.
Challenge
The project required a robust handling solution capable of assembling and deploying large-diameter offloading hoses while managing the significant loads involved.
The equipment also needed to integrate effectively with the installation vessel and support continuous deployment without disrupting the hose assembly process.
Solution
THREE60 engineered a dedicated deployment system comprising an A-frame assembly with winches and lifting equipment, a 200-tonne capacity outrigging platform structure and a 6.8-metre deployment wheel.
The complete system was assembled and tested at THREE60’s quayside facility before being shipped for integration onboard the Normand Installer, helping verify its performance ahead of offshore operations.
Result
The system was successfully used to deploy two large-diameter offloading lines for the CALM buoy.
The equipment enabled the hoses and buoyancy modules to be assembled and deployed without disruption to the assembly process, providing SBM Offshore with an effective solution for the offshore installation campaign.
