Job Purpose

Due to the continued growth and expansion of the THREE60 business across a variety of energy sectors, we are looking for a Senior Instrument Designer to join our team in Aberdeen. 

Main Duties:

  • Act as a discipline design focal point for area of responsibility
  • Maintain the required technical quality of work
  • Ensure scope and schedule changes are identified in accordance with the Change Control Process
  • Actively participate in the maintenance of planning and cost control on allocated scope
  • Ensure that design deliverables comply with the relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and procedures
  • Provide assistance to discipline design assigned personnel
  • Ensure, as far as is practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule
  • Keep up-to-date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to the discipline design scope
  • Check work as allocated by Principal Designer
  • Maintain good communication with the Client
  • Visit Assets when necessary
  • Assist the Principal Designer and others when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties
  • Ensure discipline filing system for allocated scope is maintained
  • Encourage and provide lateral learning within the Project
  • Be responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

  • Take into account all aspects of the “Health and Safety at Work etc. Act (1974)”;
  • Knowledge of, compliance with and promotion of office, site and contract/project health and safety guidelines and procedures;
  • Actively promote and comply with the THREE60 Safety Management  System;
  • Take into account all relevant procedures, guidance etc. relating to the work, which will ensure compliance with THREE60 Safety Management  System;
  • Ensure all personnel working under their direction are aware of the requirements placed upon them by “Health and Safety at Work etc. Act (1974)” and the THREE60 Safety Management  System;
  • Actively promote and encourage all personnel to care for themselves and others at all times

COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education/Qualifications:

  1. HND qualification in relevant subject [ ]
  2. HNC qualification in relevant subject [ ]

Specific Training / Specialist Skills:

  1. Formal management training [ ]
  2. BOSIET Offshore survival certification [ ]
  3. Current offshore medical certificate [ ]
  4. Expert in the application of the relevant discipline design applications [ ]

Project Specific: N/A – corporate role

Experience:

  • Good working knowledge of the practical application of the relevant design principles and their application to projects [ ]
  • Reasonable experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry [ ]
  • Reasonable knowledge of materials used within discipline [ ]
  • Good working knowledge in the requirements and needs of other disciplines [ ]
  • Some experience in managing personnel [ ]

  • Capable of representing THREE60 to business associates in a professional manner [ ]
  • Team player [ ]
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office Applications [ ]
