Job Purpose

To provide commercial and financial support to contracts by proactive and robust co-ordination of all project costs, their forecasts, monitoring, reporting and billing. Support the Finance team in developing, improving and implementing processes, procedures and good practices which deliver commercial and contractual excellence and legislative compliance.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Provide guidance and advisory support to management and contract owners on the interpretation and enforcement of commercial and contractual obligations
  • Ensure contracts and the key terms therein are understood and monitor their effectiveness in supporting the business objectives
  • Support contract owners with ongoing and regular commercial analysis and information relating to the financial performance of contracts
  • Undertake periodic reviews and support the preparation and analysis of annual budgets and forecasts and ensure commercial risks are understood and mitigated and opportunities are realised
  • Preparation of monthly cost reports and monthly customer invoice with respect to the processing of third-party invoices and other backup documents in line with contract requirements in a timely and accurate manner
  • Perform quality check on all invoices received and address any irregularity as per agreed workflow (s)
  • Interface with customer portals, assist with the management of debtors and credit control and ensure issues are addressed and cash collection is expedited and maximised
  • Prepare rates for the annual rate review process and contract variations
  • Provide commercial knowledge and expertise to support tenders, due diligence and business development activities
  • Support internal and customer audits
  • Support the purchasing process such as PO placement and CTR’s
  • Support the Finance team and contract owners with ad-hoc projects as required
  • Other duties as assigned which may be reasonably expected within the scope of the role
  • Client-facing, issue monthly cost reports and attend QBR and monthly meetings with clients

COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Formal qualification at a minimum of HNC level in a Business qualification or equivalent industry experience is desirable [ ]
  • Strong commercial and contract acumen is essential [ ]
  • Knowledge of working in the Energy Sector is essential [ ]
  • Experience of using Financial systems is essential [ ]
  • Extensive experience in client invoicing and management of credit control is essential [ ]

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience supporting audits is preferred [ ]
  • Ability and commitment to complete tasks within set deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude [ ]
  • Proven experience of working in a Commercial role supporting operational businesses is essential [ ]
  • The ability to influence others to provide inputs to allow efficient budgeting and reporting of results and forecasts is essential [ ]
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills is essential [ ]
  • Ability to operate effectively with minimum supervision [ ]
  • Strong excel skills with the ability to manage large volumes of data and convert into management information is essential [ ]
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships [ ]
