Job Title: Geoscientist

Job Purpose

Due to ongoing growth and expansion within THREE60 we have an exciting opportunity for a Geoscientist, to join our team in Aberdeen UK.

Job Purpose:

As a geoscientist within the THREE60 Energy subsurface team you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the exploration, development, decommissioning and management of natural resource.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  1. Conduct research and analyse geological data for exploration, development or decommissioning activities.
  2. Supporting clients programs, including mapping, drilling, and sample collection.
  3. Evaluate and support geological data interpretation, including well logs, seismic data, and core samples.
  4. Use of appropriate software to create maps and models of subsurface geological structures.
  5. Collaborate with engineers and other professionals internally and external to Three60energy to support projects.
  6. Provide technical guidance and support to other team members.
  7. Work as part of a team to prepare reports, presentations, and other documents for internal and external stakeholders.
  8. Assist in a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  9. Work on varied project from exploration and development to energy transition and environmental projects.
  10. Ensure that all work is carried out safely in compliance with HSE policies and procedures.

COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge & Qualifications

  1. A degree in geoscience, geology, geophysics, or a related field is essential. [ ◉ ]
  2. Proficiency in using geospatial software and data analysis tools (mainly Petrel) is essential. [ ◉ ]

Skills & Experience

  1. Demonstratable experience in Oil & Gas sector or CCS is essential. [ ◉ ]
  2. Exposure to CCS project would be preferable. [ ]
  3. Previous experience covering required key responsibilities and accountabilities (as listed above) is essential. [ ◉ ]
  4. Strong experience working in an international group (preferable). [ ]
  5. Effective communication skills to understand client needs, present findings, and provide recommendations in a clear and understandable manner is essential. [ ◉ ]
  6. Ability to write and contribute to proposals for projects, outlining methodologies, timelines, and risk/benefits is essential. [ ◉ ]
  7. Proficient in preparing detailed and comprehensive reports, including technical documents and non-technical summaries is essential. [ ◉ ]
  8. Ability to think critically and solve complex geological problems is essential. [ ◉ ]
  9. Ability to be responsive and open to changing circumstances is essential. [ ◉ ]
  10. Ability to work with challenging timeline is essential. [ ◉ ]
  11. Availability to travel as needed (preferable). [ ]

STATUS CODES:

  1. Essential requirement that must be met before a candidate is appointed unless approved by the Subsurface Manager [ ◉ ]
  2. Desirable requirement. Candidate may be appointed, with discretion, without full achievement of criterion but the indicated competence should be developed.  [ ]
