Job Purpose

Plan fit-for-purpose drilling and well designs and select appropriate drilling solutions for relevant projects. Establish strong collaboration with subsurface, projects and service providers. Help develop and maintain our positive culture and the way we work.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  1. Perform drilling engineering services in our various well projects to accomplish the agreed objectives and plans
  2. Collaborate with subsurface and develop drilling solutions and concepts, perform time and cost analysis, establish and work well risks and opportunities, etc.
  3. Collaborate with relevant drilling teams and ensure information is transferred across
  4. Prepare relevant reports and documents for the well process, analyse the executed operations, and contribute to the experience transfer in the team / project
  5. Initiate and follow up third-party studies as required
  6. Make sure that risk evaluations / analysis is properly used in relation to the conceptual well design decisions
  7. Obtain experiences from other similar projects in the company or from the industry
  8. Keep updated regarding novel equipment and new working techniques, and ascertain implementation of this when necessary for the accomplishment of valuable and cost-efficient wells
  9. Ensure good communication with all groups in the project
  10. Identify and handle dispensations and non-conformances if / when necessary
  11. Support the operational teams during execution as directed
  12. Participate in performance reviews and studies as directed

Qualifications & Experience

  1. BSc/MSc in engineering/science.
  2. Proven and relevant experience in drilling operations, well planning & operations
  3. Solid understanding of geology and subsea considerations
  4. Experience with Compass, StressCheck, WellCat (preferably), hydraulic simulations, fluids selection, kick calc, T&D&B, T&C, etc.
  5. Experience with subsea well drilling
  6. Valid OGUK Medical, BOSIET & MIST

  1. Proven experience of working in a HSE Manager role within the Energy Industry
  2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  3. Ability to lead, mentor and coach others
  4. Ability and flexibility to work at all levels and at hands on level
  5. Strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships
  6. Demonstratable skills in adapting to change and leading change processes and promoting behaviours that meet the organisation’s aims and values
